  • On the other hand some experts also suggest that a short domain say lulcp.com is a sequence of unrelated letters may be difficult to memorize. Instead of lulcp.com, its long form as LetUsLearnCProgramming.com more likely to remember the domain name on the human memory. 

8.  Top Level and Country-Specific Domain Names.

  • Top Level Domain Registries include .COM having market share approx. 74.99 %, .NET having market share approx. 11.48 %, .ORG having market share approx. 6.71 %, .INFO having market share approx. 4.85 %, .BIZ having market share approx. 1.94 %. It is recommended to stick with these TLDs as far as possible.

  • Country-Specific Domain Registries include .US, .UK, .IN, .CC etc.
  • Country-Specific Second Level Domain Registries include .CO.UK, .CO.IN etc.
  • Please note that which TLD to choose depends on availability of the domain name you desire. Also remember search engine rankings are not depend on TLDs . .COM domain will get better search engine ranking than Second Level TLDs like .CO.IN or else is absolutely wrong.
  • However the use of various TLD depends on the extent of your business/profession. Thus for a local dealer in India, xyz.co.in is more logical than .com. Similarly for an organization, .org is the appropriate TLD.
